To understand the difference between these two concepts, at first glance it seems terribly difficult and to some extent even impossible. But in fact, this is not the case.

 The API is an interface for interaction between several programs, which, by the way, can be up to ten at the same time. As a rule, such an interface has various functions, including variables and other programs necessary to provide external access.

In turn, Abi smart contract also act as an interface between programs. But the Abi (Application Binary Interface) program is already binary code, which you, in turn, will have to decrypt already.
